Overall I liked this essay on femslash and the treatment of female characters, specifically Diana Fowley, in the X-Files fandom and fan fiction.
While interesting, and insightful, it is also narrow in scope to the treatment of white, (cis)women of privilege and the feminist arguments are heavily tinted by that perspective. As is the presentation of how LGBTQ identities are used fictional plot devices in fan fic.
