The Fangirl

Long time geek, fangirl, mother, and reader. I've got a lot to say, you might not like it all, but it will be honest and hopefully helpful.

A Thought...

I'm extremely uncomfortable with books that seek to forgive/redeem/romanticizes homophobic bullies by casting the as romantic leads in m/m romance/gay erotica. Much in the same way I'm uncomfortable with the similar narratives for rapists/abusers that are common in heterosexual romance/erotica.

At some later date I'll unpack why I feel this way in detail, but I'm curious how other people feel about this popular trope in m/m romance and gay erotica?

[Side note: I could also elaborate how the problematic power dynamic of the bully/victim trope is extremely popular slash fan fiction as well.]
