The Fangirl

Long time geek, fangirl, mother, and reader. I've got a lot to say, you might not like it all, but it will be honest and hopefully helpful.

Reading progress update: I've read 6%.

Rain on Me (Shelter From the Storm, #1) - Eden Connor

Well the police bits are overwrought and difficult to buy into. I mean, I get that there's a lot of misogyny in law enforcement, but physically assaulting a fellow officer isn't EVER going to fly. Even if he did sexual harass you first. Just no.

Then there's nit-pick stuff like they're usually called "tribal casinos" or "tribal owned" rather than "Indian owned." Or that destroying come electronic slot machines isn't going to solve the problem of addiction. Not to mention the grossiness of a white guy making a slavery analogy about addiction/sex to a black woman.

At this point I'm skimming to get the sexy bits to see if it's even worth reading for the sex.
